Permit Requirements for Tibet Travel:
To travel freely in Tibet, there are four essential documents required:

Chinese Visa:
- Obtainable from the Chinese Embassy in your country. It must be valid, and only tourist visas are accepted.

Tibet Entry Permit:
- Issued by the Tibet Tourism Bureau, this permit is mandatory for all foreign travelers entering Tibet.

Travel Permit (Aliens' Travel Permit - A.T.P):
- Required for visits to closed areas in Tibet, issued by the Local Public Security Bureau (PSB) Foreign Affairs Section.

Military Permit:
- Necessary for accessing sensitive military areas, obtainable through proper channels.

Passports & Visa:
- Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months.
- For entry from China, your Chinese tourist visa must be valid.
- Entry from Nepal requires a separate Tibet visa from the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu.
How to Apply for a Tibet Entry Permit:
Currently, independent travelers cannot apply directly for the Tibet Entry Permit. Travelers must be part of a tour group, with their travel agent applying on their behalf. Prepare the following documents for your travel agent:

In order to facilitate the processing of your Tibet Visa, kindly ensure you have the following documents ready:
1, Passport Copy: Please submit a clear copy of your passport at least 25 days in advance to initiate the Tibet Travel Permit processing and advance payments
2, Original Passport: Ensure you have your original passport with you when your group arrives in Kathmandu.
3, Passport Size Photo: Provide a passport size photo with a white background, front face, without eyeglasses, and no smiling expression.
4, Visa Application Form: Complete the visa application form prior to your arrival.
Adventure Pilgrims Trekking will handle all necessary arrangements to obtain the Tibet Entry Permit from our local offices.
Travel Permit (A.T.P):
This permit is required for visiting closed areas such as Tsetang, Shigatse, Gyangtse, Nqari Region, Basumtso Lake in Nyingchi Region, and Chamdo Region. Lhasa and Nagqu regions are open to foreign travelers and do not require a Travel Permit.
Upon arrival in Tibet, our guides will assist in obtaining the Travel Permit by submitting your passport and Tibet Entry Permit to the PSB Foreign Affairs Section.
Entry Procedures to Tibet:
- By Road: Various entry points includes Kerung Border from Kathmandu, Golmud road to Amdo, and Purang from Simikot.
- By Air: Flights available from Kathmandu to Lhasa, as well as via Hong Kong-Chengdu-Lhasa route.
